- Open weights
- The model’s learned parameters are available to download. The license still determines how you may use or redistribute them; open weights does not necessarily mean open source.AIが学習したパラメーターをダウンロードできること。利用・再配布の条件はライセンスで決まり、オープンソースと同じ意味とは限りません。
- AI agent
- Software that uses an AI model and tools to carry out steps toward a task. How independently it can act depends on the product and the permissions you give it.AIモデルとツールを使い、目的に向けて複数の手順を実行するソフトウェア。自律的に動ける範囲は製品や与える権限によって異なります。
- Token
- A unit of text processed by a language model, often a word or part of a word. Input and output tokens may have different prices.言語モデルが文章を処理する単位。単語や単語の一部などに分かれ、入力と出力で料金が異なる場合があります。
- API
- An interface that lets one piece of software use another service. An AI API lets a developer send requests to a model from their own application.ソフトウェアから別のサービスを利用するための窓口。AIのAPIなら、自分のアプリからモデルに処理を依頼できます。
- Inference
- Running a trained model to produce a result from new input, as distinct from training the model.学習済みのモデルに新しい入力を渡して結果を得る処理。モデルを学習させる作業とは区別します。
- GPU
- A processor designed to perform many calculations in parallel. GPUs are used for graphics and for many AI training and inference workloads.多くの計算を並列に処理する半導体。画像処理のほか、AIの学習や推論にも広く使われます。
- Benchmark
- A test used to compare performance under particular conditions. A higher score on one test does not establish that a product is better for every real task.特定の条件で性能を比較するテスト。あるテストで高得点でも、実際のあらゆる用途で優れているとは限りません。
- IPO
- Initial public offering: a company’s first sale of shares to the public. An announced plan or filing does not mean the offering is complete.新規株式公開のこと。企業が初めて一般の投資家に株式を売り出します。計画の発表や申請と、実際の実施は別の段階です。
- Junk bond
- A bond rated below investment grade. Its issuer generally pays more interest to compensate investors for greater credit risk; the label does not mean default is certain.信用格付けが投資適格を下回る社債。一般に、信用リスクに見合う高い金利を支払います。必ず返済不能になるという意味ではありません。
- Bond offering
- A company borrows from investors by issuing debt. Launch is the start of an offering; pricing sets the terms; settlement is when payment and delivery take place.企業が社債を発行して投資家からお金を借りること。募集開始、金利などの条件決定、払込は、それぞれ別の段階です。
- Cloture
- A U.S. Senate procedure to limit debate. A cloture vote on a motion to proceed concerns taking up a bill; it is not the final vote on whether to pass that bill.米上院で討論を終結させるための手続き。審議入りの動議に対する討論終結投票は、法案の成立を決める最終採決とは異なります。
- SEC / CFTC
- U.S. financial regulators: the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Their responsibilities differ by the activity and asset involved.米国の金融規制当局。SECは証券取引委員会、CFTCは商品先物取引委員会です。対象の資産や取引によって担当が異なります。
- Valuation
- An estimate of a company's worth in a transaction or analysis. A private fundraising valuation is not cash earned by the company, and it may differ from a future sale price.取引や分析で算定する企業の価値。未上場企業の資金調達時の評価額は、その企業の売上や利益ではなく、将来の売却価格とも限りません。
- Funding round
- An event in which a company raises capital. The amount raised, the company's valuation, and money available to spend are different quantities.企業が資金を集める機会。調達した金額、企業の評価額、実際に使える手元資金は異なる指標です。
